South Part 4

Sunsets are indicators that the day is over.
I can't believe how fast the day ended for us.
But at the end of the day, all you have is tomorrow morning. :)
A new beginning. Another day in your life to make it worth it.
Another day with your friends, with your loved ones, with people close to your heart. :)

To Jeremy, for making all these possible. :)

To Nie, Aina and Danna, you made my life in College worth it. I love you to bits. =>

South Part 3

I was really planning to post this over the weekend. But because I'm so excited to share my Pamana experience, I opted to write about it tonight. (Yay for free time!)
Pamana is located along Aguinaldo Highway near the Tagaytay Rotunda. I failed to take a picture of the whole Pamana restaurant since the front area was full of cars. A sign that it is really a good place to be.

A variety of frames with vintage pictures are posted on their wall on your way to the second floor. I spotted an old group picture with Heart Evangelista on it and it made me wonder why was her picture in there.
I also spotted Donita Rose's picture on the wall.
Pamana offers a variety of Filipino cuisine based on the secret family recipes handed down to the third Ongpauco generation. Explaining Heart Evangelista's picture there. I wonder if Donita and Heart are relatives. Hmmm.

The place has 3 levels and we went for the roof deck to witness the overlooking view of Taal. The majestic view of the whole lake was just breathtaking. Plus the Tagaytay breeze made our dining experience perfect.
But nothing beats this BEAUTIFUL SCENERY. Hahahaha! I kid. :)
Our hungry stomachs almost gave up waiting for over 30 minutes for food to be served. But I guess, the wait is totally worth it.

THE ORDERS:
I am not so much of a vegetable eater. Pinakbet is one of the few that I eat. I must say that it became my favorite dish of the day. Aside from squash, prawns and bagnet were the main ingredients of this dish. I fell in love with Panama's Pinakbet (Php 350) that it set my standard when it comes to this. My mom will be so mad when she finds this out! Haha!
Their Binagoongang Bagnet (Php 230) kind of reminded me of that in Cafe Juanita. But this is less salty than that of Cafe Juanita's. You might want to slow down on their bagnet though for your cholesterol level might reach its peak.
I have nothing else to say about their Sinigang na Bangus Belly (Php 250). Its sourness suited my taste buds. It's very balanced. Not too sour. Not too bland. Just right.
This Bagoong Rice (Php 150) forced me to have an impromptu cheat day. You know that I've been on a diet for almost a month now but I just couldn't resist this green mango with meat topped on rice cooked in bagoong,. It was so so so good, I didn't even feel guilty of eating it.
The Adobo Rice (Php 150) was good but was not as good as the Bagoong Rice. I ended up eating the fats from the meat instead of the rice itself.
 What a nice feast! :)
At the end of the meal, I went really dizzy and felt that my blood pressure was on a high. But nevertheless it was all worth it.
The price gave justice to the dishes that I really didn't feel bad paying for 200 pesos for this meal. Sulit diba?

And just to eliminate the umay away, a 15-minute drive to Bag of Beans was all it took to have our desserts.
Just a tip for a better ambiance, choose the backyard garden instead of the air-conditioned room. It will give you a more relaxing view.
 Imagine walking into this?

We ordered Banana Split (Php 150) for dessert. And since we were still full from our Pamana lunch, we decided to just share over two orders of these.

A group of students appeared from nowhere and started performing "Super Bass" with the lyre and drums as their accompaniment.
Not only we didn't pay for the banana split and the cold drinks, but also we paid for the experience. We stayed a little longer and played Monopoly again. And on our last round, I won. For the first time. Yay!
It's hard to leave this place empty handed. Knowing that a few steps away from here is where you are. But still....

South Part 2

Since we arrived at Tagaytay a little early for lunch, we decided to chill at Jeremy's place in Tagaytay Highlands.
The houses look like those in Mediterranean  countries. The location of the place is very ideal if you just want to relax, chill and spend time with your friends away from the heat of the city and not to mention break away from the stress and noise Manila's giving me these past few days.
To kill time, we decided to play Monopoly. And since, Nie and Danna don't know how to play yet, we decided to just do it in buddy system.

 Aina taught Danna the rules.
And of course, Jeremy partnered Nie on our first game.
And as for me, I went solo. Sanay na ako. Kidding! :) I'm also a neophyte player of Monopoly though I already know how it works but I never won in any games yet. :(
After one round, explored the view outside of the house's veranda.
While I was waiting for them to pack their things up before leaving the house for lunch, I decided to play Temple Run. :))
But before anything else, we didn't miss to take have our pictures taken in front of Jeremy's beautiful Tagaytay sanctuary. :)
That's me, Aina, Nie and Danna trying to pose like a model. But obviously, we failed at that.
So jump shot na lang. :)

If you want to steal any property from Jeremy, that's their house address. Haha! Kidding! :)

Are you excited to know where we ate our lunch? Stay tuned. :)

Random Thought 030

And in between my Tagaytay hangover, a good friend in the name of JIBBEN just dropped by my house literally 5 minutes ago and kept his promise that he made months ago. Haha! You know how much I love burgers right? Better late than never! Thank you Jib! =">

South Part 1

Yesterday was indeed a celebration. I was able to spend time with SOME of my girlfriends. And what better way to do it? A day trip to Tagaytay. :)

I was too excited for this day that I was not able to sleep early the previous night. But nevertheless, I wasn't late for the 8am call time.

We decided to wander around Nuvali in Laguna to explore the area.

It's an ideal place to live in since it's very peaceful and accessible to almost everything. Plus many restaurants and food stalls reside in here. And fun activities to engage yourself into on weekends.

We decided to feed these hungry fishies by the lake. We had fun watching them swarm over the feeds we throw at them.
The lake is full of these goldfish right here and you can really witness how they kill for their food. Poor fishies.
We spotted on these mountain bikes at the side of the lagoon and Jeremy said that we can use it for free.
So I immediately jumped on to the bike, strolled around Nuvali and enjoy the morning breeze of the air, not knowing that the bikes were for actually for rent! Haha!

The next thing I know, a guy in uniform stole the bike from me and informed me that the bikes were for rent. Oops.
It's also a good place to spend time with a special love one like these two over here. Hehehe! :)

I know this is a senseless post but I promise that the next parts will be more fun and interesting!

Plus a food blog is in line with my succeeding post. Can you guess what restaurant it is?

Stay tuned. :)

Adele did it again

"I can't make you love me when you don't.."

Don't ever think I'm that stupid. I'm more than just a pizza and a basket of mojos. #justsaying

Foodtrip Mon-DATE

Justin wanted to try the newest Dessert Buffet in Banawe. So on his birthday celebration last week, he asked me if I wanted to give it a try the week after. And being a sucker for sweets and desserts, I didn't think twice and accepted the invitation. I wanted to have a light dinner first so as to not aggravate my stomach's situation (I was having a bad tummy the whole day!)

FIRST STOP: The Pit, Dapitan

It was really a no-brainer choosing Shrimp Cocktail Salad (Php 75) for my light dinner. You know how much I'm a sucker for shrimps so no doubt I enjoyed this salad dressing dipped shrimps with lettuce and tomatoes. And it's a plus factor that I did not have to peel the skin off or even ask Jeric to do it for me. :)
Justin ordered The Pit Burger (Php 95). I did not have the chance to take a bite on his burger since I wanted to go light that night(yay for the rhymes!). But instead, I took a munch on the potato chips that served as the side dish.

When I asked him how was his burger, he said "Okay lang.." and my interpretation was "So hindi masarap?.." and he just laughed.

SECOND STOP: LOVE DESSERTS

I don't know what it is with desserts but it it really gives me a different kind of jittery feeling and excitement whenever I see one. It brings out the kid in me. Who doesn't, by the way?
On this table, you can see a variety a of desserts and sweets, from Halo-halo, fruit salad, graham cake, fresh fruits, tuna empanada, brownies, more cakes, cream puffs, sylvannas, ginataan and a whole lot more.

Waffles, truffles, ciabatas and other pastries are also available for your convenience.
Ian will agree on me if I say that this is my favorite dessert of the night! I ended up eating three of these! It was so good that I even went for a fourth round! Haha! It's crushed graham, whipped cream and cherry on top combined perfectly for my satisfaction. Yummy!
They also had a crepe section where you can choose among peaches, strawberries, blueberries and banana as your stuffing. I must say that I like their crepes better than Buffet 101.
And of course, a dessert buffet without a fondue wouldn't be complete. But I guess, if they make this a Strawberry Fondue instead of chocolate, it will appear more unique and attractive. #justsaying
Their ice cream is in partnership with Big Scoop. One of the best ever tasting ice cream in the metro. I was a non-conformist that night so instead of going for the usual chocolate ice cream, I decided to give Buko Pandan a try, but it was not the taste that I expected.
It's okay for a 199-peso buffet. Though my expectations aren't met (I was hoping there would be more variety and choices for the cakes, jello shots plus a leche flan was not in my sight that night!), it's still worth a try.

Pasado na sa "Okay lang. Pwede na" but I will definitely come back for a second try.

And just a reminder for lactose intolerant people, you might want to slow down on your Milk Tea intake. TRUST ME ON THIS ONE.

THIRD STOP: Causeway, Banawe

And it was one unusual night out after all, what kind of crazy people eats dessert in between meals, right?
Nothing beats Chinese food on a rainy Monday night. Justin and Ian, being neophyte customers of Causeway surely had satisfied stomachs that night. Ian enjoyed eating his dumplings while Justin on the other hand had fun gobbling on the chicken feet. It was truly a feast for the five of us. :)
Causeway is known for its 9pm sale (30% off on dimsum carts except hakaw), the reason why it becomes really crowded during this time. And thank you to my good friend Alvin Tsoi, who is the son of the owner,  for providing us reservations despite the short notice and fresh fruits to take our umay away. :))

To Jeric, Justin, Erika and Ian, can we please make things right next time? If you know what I mean! :)
