Titanic

I don't know why it took me 13 years to watch the whole movie of Titanic.

I know the whole Jack-Rose and the ship sinking shit story but I didn't really have the chance to watch it full length. Thanks to piratebay.org, uTorrent and of course Kim for finally ending my ignorance about this movie.

James Cameron really got me crying like a baby here. Kim and I were weeping and whining as if we were in the actual situation.

Since I don't know how to give a movie review, I'll just vent out my favorite highlights in the movie:

  • The "You jump, I jump, remember?" line partnered with Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On is a splash of cold water on my face it got me crying so bad. I wished that kind of love existed. Just like Kim said "Sana yung you jump, I jump story nangyayari in real life, hindi puro I jump na lang.."
  • And who could ever forget the epic scene when Jack and Rose first kissed at the edge of the ship after Rose saying "I'm flying, I'm flying.." It was the sweetest yet the weirdest thing I ever witnessed.
  • I love Jack Dawson. Despite him being poor, he does everything for her girl to be safe. That's what I want in a man. ASSURANCE. SECURITY. PROTECTION.
  • I admire the captain and engineer's nobleness. Taking all the blame and responsibility for all the lives lost even if it wasn't asked of them. Nobody wanted that to happen.
Titanic for me is the greatest tragedy ever written. Rose and Jack might have known each other for only a short span of time. But I guess it was enough for it to last 84 years. Or at least in the movies.

Too bad the love story is the only fictional part in the movie.

For the Love of Burgers and Milk Tea

My fetish for gourmet burgers started way before when I was in Grade School. This burger parlor along
Katipunan Avenue is one of the first gourmet burger stores in the Philippines even before the fad started.

We order the XXX burger which is 9 inches in diameter. (Php 325)

What I like about Bite Club burgers aside from the fact that it's huge is that the simplicity of it makes it unique from the others. But what's unique about their burgers is that the burger patty has a filling. I don't know how they do it but I'm glad they did! This particular burger has a mozarella cheese filling. The quality, freshness and the taste didn't change the first time I tried it.EXTREMELY DELICIOUS! Yay for gourmet burgers! :)

 Baby Enzo is really sleepy since it's past his bedtime already. But still chose to pose for the camera. What a cute/vain boy you are!

 Are we really magkamuka? :)
Father-Son bonding: SMELLING EACH OTHERS BAD BREATH.

So anyways, at the end of our midnight snack, what we had were happy tummies, satisfied cravings and of course damaged wallets. But hey! It's a good buy!

And for dessert I decided to try Chatime's Banana Series at Pioneer, Mandaluyong. (Php 80)

Serenitea still set the bar. #nobias

Cheers to the freakin' weekend!

So this is what happened...

Remember when your mom tells you to "Try to see the good in everything"? Well I don't. But it doesn't mean that I don't do it. I live by that principle.

When I said that I will learn how to get to RFM through all kinds of public transportation, I did! I kept my promise! So whatever happened to me being a Kindergarten for a week? (By kindergarten meaning, mom will make hatid-sundo.) Well. You know "unwanted circumstances" happen. And by unwanted meaning a hard slap on the face to start the morning. GREAT.

Anywaaaaayyyssss.... Back to the "trying to see the good in everything" part. This is what happened.

FIRST DAY

I was feeling anxious and at the same time happy. I kind of anticipated this day to come. Except for the commuting part. You know how I much I hate DESPISE commuting. But then again. I have no choice. I did myself a little favor. I took the cab going to the RFM. Hey! It's my first day and I don't have any idea how to get there! Luckily, engaging in a good conversation with manong driver brought me good. He taught me how to commute going to RFM. On the way home. I was totally LOST. I literally called my brother, crying, asking me to pick me up. But no luck. He was still at Pampanga that time. I had no choice but to take the cab. AGAIN. I spent almost 500 just for the fare. That's like a 200% damage on my allowance.

Trying to see the good in everything. *nods*

SECOND DAY

Testing my luck. I tried what manong driver said to me the previous day. I followed everything he said. Everything was fine at first. It's just that the hassle of riding a jeep is not so tolerable at all. On the way home, I didn't know that the jeepney ride ends at Mendiola. I was playing cool so as to not draw attention but at the back of my head I was like WHAT. THE. FUCK. I don't have any money left. I was texting my kuya but the bastard wasn't replying. I had no choice but to walk ALL THE WAY FROM MENDIOLA TO MY PAD. I couldn't help but cry. When I got home, I saw kuya SLEEPING. I intentionally dropped my bag hard so as to wake him up. He saw me and asked me why I texted. I ignored him. But when he saw me crying he was like "Anong nangyari sayo? Sabihin mo anong nangyari!" I shouted back "NAGLAKAD AKO MULA MENDIOLA HANGGANG DITO!" Then he asked calmly "E bakit ka umiiyak?" I snapped. "E KASI PAGOD NA PAGOD NA AKO!!" A short silence made everything awkward. I can tell that he got guilty. Then I cried harder.

Trying to see the good in everything. *nods*

THIRD DAY

Today, I tried riding an FX. I ended up getting in the wrong FX. AGAIN. FOR THE NTH TIME. I GOT LOST. HA! But at least I'm learning. I have to walk all the way from One San Miguel to RFM. It was a good exercise though so I didn't mind walking. When I got to the 3rd floor, everybody in the office was chaotic. Apparently, a meeting with the head was about to take place. Which means. FREE LUNCH. FREE MERIENDA. LAZY ASS MODE ON. I was very eager to finish all the tasks assigned so I could slack off. And luckily, I got victorious. :) On the way home, as soon as I reached the terminal, an FX passed by. Just my luck. And today, I got more than enough money to suffice for my fare. :) At least the "trying to see the good in everything" part paid off. :)

Tomorrow, I'm planning to take the train. So yeah. Good luck to me! Hope I break the "losing" streak. :)

EXPLICIT

I hate commuting and everything that goes with it. The pollution. The heat. The "bayad-makikiabot-po" system. I HATE IT. HATE IT. HATE IT!!!! EXCLAMATION POINTS! Not to mention the uneducated perverts scattered all over the place. FUCK. Go fuck a dog or something fugly person!

My apologies for this post is a little bit explicit. (Or maybe it is explicit at all?)

Today was the first day of my internship at RFM. Tasks were assigned but most of the time I was just staring at the wall. YES. That's what I do. I am the only intern they hired. I'm not really sure if I should be flattered about it but really, I am not happy with it. I had to eat lunch alone. Had to scan magazines most of the time. And if I'm done with it, I'll flip the pages over and over and over again. Boredom just murdered me a while ago.

This sucks. But still, I'm hoping that the next days will be better. Please. Let it be. Please.

Morning Disappointments.

I love how morning disappointments have consolations. :)

Hahaha! Ron Javier tweetpic-ed (is there such a term?) me this photo and it got me all giddy and happy. Of course I know it's just bola and it's not true. But it got me victorious for a moment there. :)

Thank you boys for the consolation! :)

Although it doesn't show. I am 21 years old. It just pisses me off when you treat me like a 12 year old girl. I just don't get it. Really. I don't.

Disappointments go a long way. Grudges are kept  for a long time. Rage. Anger. Despair.

I'm just hating how paranoid mothers can be.

Waking up with a slap on the face is something unusual. What a great way to start my morning.

I hate it. Hate it. Hate it. Hate it.

Future

There's something about FERRIS WHEELS that fascinates me.

If my memory serves me right, I only rode a Ferris Wheel once, and that was during my First year in College, I think. And after that, never again did I ride the Ferris Wheel. No. Nothing traumatic happened. But I guess it's more of a my life principle. I promised myself that the next time I will ride a tsubibo, it will be with that one person who is deserving of sharing the beautiful view with. The one who's worth the feeling of being on top of the world. The one whom I can enjoy a night of euphoria, nostalgia and romanticism. Talking about almost everything. :)

Well I guess, it's never called Wheel of Fate for nothing. Call it cheesy. But please, IBIGAY NIYO NA SA AKIN TO.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I always liked the word SERENDIPITY. It's one of my favorite words. Next to FOOD of course.
Fate. Destiny. Unfortunate accidents.That's what most people call it. But I guess it's one word that is difficult to describe. No words are enough to suffice the meaning for Serendipity.
It's something unexpected that turned out to be the most beautiful surprise you've ever received.
I can't wait to get this after graduation. If there's something I am obsessed with. It's piercing and tattoos. Very unusual for a girl, I know. But you see, I'm really different. So it's either you get annoyed with the "dirt" or you deal with it.
Serendipity.
I can't wait for this to become permanent! Graduation please come faster! :*
When somebody from Formspring informed me that Jeric Teng already made his own Twitter account, I immediately followed him and felt the need of welcoming him to the Twitter world! Well, of course I didn't expect that he'll notice in just because at a very short span of time he already gained hundreds of followers. But really, deep down me, I was HOPING that he'll notice my tweet. =">
Though like 8 hours delayed, he replied to my tweet. And I swear I felt my heart in my throat!
I have the biggest crush on him talaga despite his gums being bigger than his teeth, His smile is just THE. CUTEST! =))
I took advantage of this neophyte twitter user so I replied again with a "Hi. See you around." greeting. And yess.. He didn't fail to give me the tsunami waves in my tummy. =))
Go follow him on Twitter! --> twitter.com/jericteng16
Ciao! =))
Food Trip Friday
Last Friday, I got a text from my friend Justin Francisco asking if I was free the whole day since he just got back in his condo and needed company. Since I, myself was feeling a little bored that day, I grabbed the offer. Off we went to Greenhills.
On our way to Promenade, we were talking about where we should eat because we also planned to have a food trip that day. We talked about Bon Chon, Happy Lemon, Banchetto and Mercato Centrale. And among those, Only Banchetto did not pushed through.
FIRST STOP: BONCHON
 While waiting for our order.
I look so cute here. HAHAHA! Kidding! :)
Thumbs up for the service and the interiors! Everyting was digitzed. Except the staff of course. :)
Justin, please don't make this face again! Ang scary e! :(
 Bulgogi rice for Php 145. If you ask me, it has a resemblance with that of Teriyaki Boy's beef teriyaki. But that of Bon Chon is dry. It's pricey for a bowl but I think it's worth the money because it's really delicious! :)
 Trying to hide my big face. HAHAHA
Our Bon Chon trip wouldn't be complete without trying their chicken. The 6pcs wing part for Php180.
Justin wanted his chicken plain. I wanted it spicy. I tried both. I like the spicy one better. Of course. The crispiness of the skin added to the almost perfect marriage of the sweet and spicy taste of my chicken. But it is nothing compared to Chicken Charlie's. Nonetheless, it was good din naman.
SECOND STOP: HAPPY LEMON
After crying over Real Steel (Which is a really good movie, btw!)  Justin wanted to try Happy Lemon. I am really not a fan of Milk Tea but Happy Lemon is Happy Lemon. Everybody's talking about it so why not try it diba?
Okay okay. Sorry for my haggard face. I just finished crying e!
Anyways, I ordered their Cookies and Cream Oreo Milk tea for Php90. And boy, was I disappointed! It has an aftertaste and made me feel nauseous afterwards! I still like Serenitea better!
THIRD STOP: MIDNIGHT MERCATO
Just because we wanted to be spontaneous, we called our blockmate Jan Pasion to pick us up at Greenhills just to go all the way to Bonifacio Global City and indulge ourselves with more food. :) It's my second time to visit Mercato so I kind of know what to expect but I tried other choices.
 The two layered double cheese pizza for Php150. NOT WORTH THE MONEY AT ALL. I even like Sandy's pizza better than this one. I wasn't able to finish the whole slice not only because I was full but it's not worth a single space in my stomach. KTHANKSBYE.
This has become my favorite! It's a known fact that I love burgers and I must say, this Krispy Kreme burger (Php180) made it on my Top 5 list of favorites! I was kind of expecting it to taste weird but I was really surprised that donuts and beef is a good combination! :)
So many things to try out here! So I will definitely come back and try all their chicken and dessert products next!
At the end of the day, what I have left in my wallet is Php500. Good Lord. How can I survive the break?
OJT HUNTING
When I had my first interview 2 weeks ago, I instantly fell in love with STATUS. And I swear, I pictured myself having my training there. I mean, I belong there. At the back of my mind I'm saying THESE ARE MY KIND OF PEOPLE. Anything goes. Shorts, boots, sneakers, BEDROOM HAIR. It's like a fashion police is ready to escort you out their office if you dress bad.
Imagine my reaction when they called me two days after my interview. I was ecstatic. It's too good to be true because admittedly, I screwed up during the interview.  But still, they wanted me to work for them. Maybe because they saw something special in me. Hihi. =>
But then again, things don't always go the way you want them to be. I had problems getting the practicum coordinator to sign my endorsement letter. JUST BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T "FEEL" LIKE IT. I was running out of time. I don't have a fallback and I didn't pass my resume to any other companies. I had no other choice but to use force, power and connection. Gladly, the whole family was eager to help me.
Thanks to my cousin who got me an interview at RFM Corporation this morning. This might sound alien to you but we basically grew up loving their products -- Moo, Sunkist, Selecta, White King and the like. REMEMBER? :)
I didn't feel any kaba what so ever. I really didn't know why. Maybe because I already know what to expect during interviews and I was able to get a heads up about the company the previous night.
My mom accompanied me to the interview since I don't know how to commute, YET. But I promised her that I will learn how to get there through all kinds of public transportation. :)
I was welcomed by their HR who asked me to fill-up an application form and all those shit. YADDA YADDA YADDA. Am I getting too boring? HAHA.
Anyways. When I finally got the chance to meet the head of the Beverage group (Sunkist) I didn't know that he was young. I think he was only in his early 30's, judging from his looks and the way he dresses.
A formal interview did not take place. It was more of a chat and kwentuhan about college, studies, football and the like. Everything was at ease. For a moment there, I thought I was talking to my older brother. Which is good, right? :)
"Actually, I wanted you to work for the beverage group, in which I am the head. But when the others saw your resume, THEY SHOWED INTEREST *smiles*."
I was like DUDE, DON'T MESS WITH MY FEELINGS! Honestly, I didn't know if it was a good thing or a bad thing. But he said that I will get to work with big people in the Beverage group (Sunkist), The milk (Selecta Fortified) and the Meat group (Swift). Sounds a lot of work but I'm up for it!
If by any chance there wouldn't be any conflict with the practicum coordinator, I will start working for them on Monday next week. With an allowance of 160/day. Not bad, right?
TIPS DURING YOUR INTERVIEW
1. Be confident.
2. Do your research and study about the company profile
3. SMILE. Trust me. This has gone me places!
4. Bring candy or mint. But do not eat them during the interview proper! Take it before the interview
5. Drink at least a bottle of water.
6. Dress appropriately and don't overdo your make-up. Powder and gloss will do.
7. Greet the everybody from the guards, to the staff, the HR -- EVERYBODY. It will create a good impression.
8. At the end of the interview, don't forget to say something nice like "Nice meeting you sir/ma'am" or "Thank you for the time. Looking forward to work for your company" or something like that. Simple compliments wouldn't hurt.
9. Lastly. JUST BE YOURSELF. No. BE YOUR BEST SELF. Be confident!
GOOD LUCK! =)))
Enzoooo! You're not my baby anymore. Ang big boy mo na! <3 =">
OMG. I just have to post this! :))
No matter how f'd up Globe is, I still love them to death! HAHA! Binasag nila trip ko but I commend them for their fast action. Kudos to Globe! =))
I hate injections but I need them.
Earlier today, my Mom and I went to St. Luke's hospital to take our vaccine for Pneumonia. I thought that it was really for Cervical Cancer. But it turns out I was scheduled next month for the Anti-Cervical Cancer shot. Good thing cause I just died earlier.
My older brother so obsessed with us getting ALL the vaccines possible. I don't have anything against it. It's just that MASAKIT.
Earlier, Dra. Patty kept on asking me if I was okay cause she knows I fear injections. And everytime I get a vaccine, she gives me lollipop and an uber cute designed bandaid. I'm such a kiddo.
When I got my Flu Vac this year, she gave me a Belle bandaid as requested by Enzo.
 And today, when I had my Pneumonia Vaccine (which is good for 5 years btw) I chose a Hello Kitty bandaid. Hihi!
I suggest you also get vaccinated today! :))
The Wait.
You were the one thing I least expected that day but you were also the one thing I needed. I swear I felt you before I saw you.
You were a breath of fresh air, a warm breeze that caressed my face, sending waves of pleasure from my head to my toes. Shaking my very being from the inside out.
Then you spoke, a few short words that sent a rush of a thousand memories through my mind. I saw you again, through my heart's eye. The last time I saw you, the last time we embraced, the last time we kissed.
The time I let you go, and watched you in awe as you flew free like a bird, stretching your wings and dancing with the sun, moon, and stars, tempting them with your beauty.
I set you free once, and I let you take my heart with you in all your travels. Now we both are back, and I find myself unable to ignore this second chance God has gracefully granted us. =">
Please, don't waste this chance of a lifetime. Don't let this fragile gift slip out of your hands. Most people only get once chance at love, we were given two.
Embrace this chance, cherish this gift, when you are ready, I WILL BE HERE to help you explore it's marvelous possibilities.
For you, I will wait.
My mom's a playgirl.
Meet my mom..
Yup! That's her. I hate to admit it but she does looks pretty! HAHA. That was during her debut with the "Combo" playing in the background. She was the only kolehiyala who had a debut during her time and it was all made possible by her then ex-boyfriend, Kanor. HAHAHA. I'm loving the old school name!
She claims that during her kapanahunan, a lot of boys drool over her. My lola often scolds her because wherever my goes, she never fails to attract suitors. Yup. A playgirl she is. Hihi.
Among the siblings, the luckiest who got my mom's look is the eldest. He looks a lot like my mommy. Too bad the succeeding ones, got dad's look who somehow resembles Efren "Bata" Reyes. Haha! I love you dad! :)))
Hapon Suzuki
A few weeks back, my Kuya and I were watching Pop Talk on GMA News TV and they happen to feature a Japanese carinderia in Hermosa St., Tondo. Upon watching it, my brother wanted to try it.
So a week after, together with my mom, Enzo, Ate Ize and her mom, we decided to dine it at Hapon Suzuki
At first glance, you might have hesitations in eating here. Space is limited. Seats are limited. Moves are limited. Everything is limited. It was more of a bangketa rather than a carinderia.
But what I like about Suzuki is that you can see how your food is prepared. The kitchen is out in hte. So you can be sure that your food is sanitary.
Meet Chef Suzuki. He's a retired chef in Japan and married a Filipina until they decided to just settle here in the Philippines.
Our patience was tested during our visit since we have to wait for 2 long hours just to eat! YES. TWO FUCKING HOURS.
FINALLY, after the 2-hour wait, it's here! Sorry for the poor image quality. We just brought an iTouch with us.
 I ordered beef teriyaki and I must say, it's pretty impressive. I love the marriage of the the sweet and salty taste of the beef.
 I wasn't really a fan of their fish fillet. But my mom and sister-in-law said that it was really good. Maybe because I am really not a fish eater. It's crispy, golden brown appearance is very enticing. Plus the sauce is a to-die for.
 I have to say that this has become my favorite! Shrimp tempura with vegetables on the side. It was crunchy and delicious. The tempura sauce added to the almost perfectly cooked dish. Good job chef!
My kuya's order was Chiken katsudon. AND I INSTANTLY FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. It was the best chicken katsudon I've tasted in my life! Well, it's really my first time to eat chicken katsudon so I don't have any idea how it should taste like. Hehe. ;p
It is a good value for your money. I mean, where in the world can you eat in a Japanese restaurant this cheap and delicious?
The two-hour wait is worth it but it's not ideal if you want to satisfy your hungry tummy.
The food was great but it's a one time thing. Never again, will I wait for two hours just to eat here, even if it's worth it. HAHA.
But if you're up for a little adventure, it is is located at Hermosa St. Tondo Manila. And just a tip, if you don't want to wait for a very long time, I suggest that you call their hotline (which I don't know by the way) and place your orders through phone as early as lunch time and just dine in during dinner. :))
