South Part 3

I was really planning to post this over the weekend. But because I'm so excited to share my Pamana experience, I opted to write about it tonight. (Yay for free time!)
Pamana is located along Aguinaldo Highway near the Tagaytay Rotunda. I failed to take a picture of the whole Pamana restaurant since the front area was full of cars. A sign that it is really a good place to be.

A variety of frames with vintage pictures are posted on their wall on your way to the second floor. I spotted an old group picture with Heart Evangelista on it and it made me wonder why was her picture in there.
I also spotted Donita Rose's picture on the wall.
Pamana offers a variety of Filipino cuisine based on the secret family recipes handed down to the third Ongpauco generation. Explaining Heart Evangelista's picture there. I wonder if Donita and Heart are relatives. Hmmm.

The place has 3 levels and we went for the roof deck to witness the overlooking view of Taal. The majestic view of the whole lake was just breathtaking. Plus the Tagaytay breeze made our dining experience perfect.
But nothing beats this BEAUTIFUL SCENERY. Hahahaha! I kid. :)
Our hungry stomachs almost gave up waiting for over 30 minutes for food to be served. But I guess, the wait is totally worth it.

THE ORDERS:
I am not so much of a vegetable eater. Pinakbet is one of the few that I eat. I must say that it became my favorite dish of the day. Aside from squash, prawns and bagnet were the main ingredients of this dish. I fell in love with Panama's Pinakbet (Php 350) that it set my standard when it comes to this. My mom will be so mad when she finds this out! Haha!
Their Binagoongang Bagnet (Php 230) kind of reminded me of that in Cafe Juanita. But this is less salty than that of Cafe Juanita's. You might want to slow down on their bagnet though for your cholesterol level might reach its peak.
I have nothing else to say about their Sinigang na Bangus Belly (Php 250). Its sourness suited my taste buds. It's very balanced. Not too sour. Not too bland. Just right.
This Bagoong Rice (Php 150) forced me to have an impromptu cheat day. You know that I've been on a diet for almost a month now but I just couldn't resist this green mango with meat topped on rice cooked in bagoong,. It was so so so good, I didn't even feel guilty of eating it.
The Adobo Rice (Php 150) was good but was not as good as the Bagoong Rice. I ended up eating the fats from the meat instead of the rice itself.
 What a nice feast! :)
At the end of the meal, I went really dizzy and felt that my blood pressure was on a high. But nevertheless it was all worth it.
The price gave justice to the dishes that I really didn't feel bad paying for 200 pesos for this meal. Sulit diba?

And just to eliminate the umay away, a 15-minute drive to Bag of Beans was all it took to have our desserts.
Just a tip for a better ambiance, choose the backyard garden instead of the air-conditioned room. It will give you a more relaxing view.
 Imagine walking into this?

We ordered Banana Split (Php 150) for dessert. And since we were still full from our Pamana lunch, we decided to just share over two orders of these.

A group of students appeared from nowhere and started performing "Super Bass" with the lyre and drums as their accompaniment.
Not only we didn't pay for the banana split and the cold drinks, but also we paid for the experience. We stayed a little longer and played Monopoly again. And on our last round, I won. For the first time. Yay!
It's hard to leave this place empty handed. Knowing that a few steps away from here is where you are. But still....
