OJT HUNTING

When I had my first interview 2 weeks ago, I instantly fell in love with STATUS. And I swear, I pictured myself having my training there. I mean, I belong there. At the back of my mind I'm saying THESE ARE MY KIND OF PEOPLE. Anything goes. Shorts, boots, sneakers, BEDROOM HAIR. It's like a fashion police is ready to escort you out their office if you dress bad.

Imagine my reaction when they called me two days after my interview. I was ecstatic. It's too good to be true because admittedly, I screwed up during the interview.  But still, they wanted me to work for them. Maybe because they saw something special in me. Hihi. =>

But then again, things don't always go the way you want them to be. I had problems getting the practicum coordinator to sign my endorsement letter. JUST BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T "FEEL" LIKE IT. I was running out of time. I don't have a fallback and I didn't pass my resume to any other companies. I had no other choice but to use force, power and connection. Gladly, the whole family was eager to help me.

Thanks to my cousin who got me an interview at RFM Corporation this morning. This might sound alien to you but we basically grew up loving their products -- Moo, Sunkist, Selecta, White King and the like. REMEMBER? :)

I didn't feel any kaba what so ever. I really didn't know why. Maybe because I already know what to expect during interviews and I was able to get a heads up about the company the previous night.

My mom accompanied me to the interview since I don't know how to commute, YET. But I promised her that I will learn how to get there through all kinds of public transportation. :)

I was welcomed by their HR who asked me to fill-up an application form and all those shit. YADDA YADDA YADDA. Am I getting too boring? HAHA.

Anyways. When I finally got the chance to meet the head of the Beverage group (Sunkist) I didn't know that he was young. I think he was only in his early 30's, judging from his looks and the way he dresses.

A formal interview did not take place. It was more of a chat and kwentuhan about college, studies, football and the like. Everything was at ease. For a moment there, I thought I was talking to my older brother. Which is good, right? :)

"Actually, I wanted you to work for the beverage group, in which I am the head. But when the others saw your resume, THEY SHOWED INTEREST *smiles*."

I was like DUDE, DON'T MESS WITH MY FEELINGS! Honestly, I didn't know if it was a good thing or a bad thing. But he said that I will get to work with big people in the Beverage group (Sunkist), The milk (Selecta Fortified) and the Meat group (Swift). Sounds a lot of work but I'm up for it!

If by any chance there wouldn't be any conflict with the practicum coordinator, I will start working for them on Monday next week. With an allowance of 160/day. Not bad, right?

TIPS DURING YOUR INTERVIEW

1. Be confident.
2. Do your research and study about the company profile
3. SMILE. Trust me. This has gone me places!
4. Bring candy or mint. But do not eat them during the interview proper! Take it before the interview
5. Drink at least a bottle of water.
6. Dress appropriately and don't overdo your make-up. Powder and gloss will do.
7. Greet the everybody from the guards, to the staff, the HR -- EVERYBODY. It will create a good impression.
8. At the end of the interview, don't forget to say something nice like "Nice meeting you sir/ma'am" or "Thank you for the time. Looking forward to work for your company" or something like that. Simple compliments wouldn't hurt.
9. Lastly. JUST BE YOURSELF. No. BE YOUR BEST SELF. Be confident!

GOOD LUCK! =)))
