LOVE-HATE YEAR

Hours from now, and we will officially be saying goodbye to 2011 and welcome 2012.

A very bipolar year it is for me. I laughed, cried, fell in love, got my heart broken, gained new friends, lost some along the way. A LOVE-HATE YEAR INDEED.

I don't know what's with 2011 but it definitely let my guards down.

I got drunk. I got wasted. I got stupid. It's something I will look back in the future and laugh about with my friends who got drunk, wasted and got stupid with me.

I was dumped. I was used. I got hurt. But it definitely taught me how to be stronger, tougher and to not let love get in the way.

I fell in love again, many times actually. I was happy. Felt kilig. Then got hurt. Repeat process. THREE TIMES.

I'm a girl in search of LOVE. A sucker for DESTINY. And a slave of HOPE.

2012 will be better. I'm ready. Please be worth it.

Though puyat, tired and hangover-ed from the Noche Buena. Nothing can stop me from watching The Sound of Music Play at Resorts World. It served as a gift from my Kuya and I will not let this chance slip by my hands. :))

Thanks to Ensogo for selling SOM tickets at a much cheaper price. :)

And since, it was a first come first served basis, me and my mom had to leave early in order to choose good seats. As early as 4pm, we were there already, unfortunately we got the last row seats but at least it was in the center.

The show was scheduled at 8pm, good thing, I brought Jeric's laptop with me so I still have time to pass my Strama paper which is due that day also.

In order to kill the four-hour waiting time, we decided to dine in at Shakey's and do my stuff there.

I didn't know Shakey's belgian fries tastes this good. :) But that wasn't all that I ordered. I just want to share my insights about the fries. Hehe.

At 7pm, we left the place and headed to the Newport Theatre.

Of course, we were both excited to watch the play. Honestly, it was my first time to watch a musical play unlike my mom who is often invited by her rich friends to watch plays like this.

The Sound of Music is about a nun-wannabe named Maria who has become problem in the sanctuary. The mother superior is doubtful about Maria's vocation so she sent her out on a vacation and there she was assigned to be a governess of the Von Trapp family headed by Capt. Von Trap. If I'm not mistaken it was the time when Germany wanted to colonized Austria. The plot was really good and the acting was very realistic. The cuteness factor of the kids added impact to the play as well.

Too bad, cameras weren't allowed to be used during the play. :(

When Maria and Capt. Von Trapp kissed each other all the adults were like "Aww" and I swear I heard the little ones screamed "Eww". Sure. You can be disgusted all you want now, but wait till you grow up. Haha!!

It really has a different impact on the kids and the adults but I'm pretty sure that we all appreciated the greatness of the play. It is something that you guys should watch. :))

Noche Buena ala 4M2 :)

Former class president, Ryan Eustaquio had this wild idea of spending the Noche Buena earlier that the real date. It was something that we all agreed on. :))

On the night of our pretend Christmas Eve, my mom was nice enough to cook our food. :)

Spaghetti, Chicken Pastel and Hamonado. :))
And the host of the party, Ryan, prepared this yummy hot chocolate. Perfect for the Christmas-y weather. <3

We all did the countdown to 12mn, again, PRETENDING that it was really Christmas. When the clock striked 12, we all greeted each other a Merry Christmas and exchanged hugs and kisses. What we did was we posed under the Eustaquio's Christmas Tree so that we could really feel that it really is Christmas Day already. :)

P.S I have shorts, okay? :))

And after that, everything else followed. What is a pretend Christmas Eve celebration without the booze right? :))

Merry Christmas everyone! :)

Random Thought 011

And I wonder, why people stopped using the word "DYAHE". Hmm. I think the word "HASSLE" got some explaining to do.

Random Thought 010

I just realized how bad my grammar became since I got used to the conyo language. That's how I adjust and adapt to the culture easily. HELP. :(

TO DO LIST

I know. I know. Next year is less than two weeks away so you might be thinking how crazy I am to actually BELIEVE EXPECT that this wishlist will happen in just two weeks. It only says one thing about me. I'm a hardcore procrastinator. I don't make plans. And I just go with the flow.

Before 2011 ends, I am HOPING to do/buy/receive/have these:

1. RED HOODIE

Kind of like this design right here. But I want it loose. You know those style that boys usually wear. But not big enough to make me look jeje or something. Hehe.

2. Watch a live musical play

This is the cast of the Sound of Music play. Luckily, I will be able to watch them on Friday at Resorts World. Yay!

3. Picture of me with the Chocolate Hills...

...And to hold or just touch a tarsier in Bohol

Come Dec. 26, I'll be leaving the city for Bohol and I won't let the chance pass to have a photographic image of these when I get back.

4. New pair of Sanuk

It may not be of the same design but I really hope it's the same style as the one above. PLEASE MOM.

5. A picture of the Main Building -- Disney Castle style.

Those were my shots last Sunday. Hihi. :)

6. Dine-in at Buffet 101

Yes. I love BUFFET RESTAURANTS. :))

7. Picture under a Christmas Tree.

I still want a lot of things to accomplish before the year ends but, I think these are the most feasible and attainable in 2weeks time. :))

What's on your wishlist this Christmas? :)

On a Sunday. :)

First of all, my apologies for this post will be bombarded with a lot of visuals than words. My brain juices are too lethargic to function right now. It got fed up cramming for my StraMa paper.

Last September, a couple of my friends decided to save up for this pricey buffet restaurant along Seaside. My love for food and buffet restaurants are not a secret anymore. So I really had to save up for this.

The heavy utensils. I swear that was my first impression upon using those! It's really heavy!
 The table number. :)
This was the first thing I noticed inside this restaurant. It looks classy and elegant making me feel like an elite. NOT.

I wanted to try everything on the buffet table. But that is clearly impossible since I don't have the capacity to do so. So what I did was, I only ate small of amounts of the different variety of the food available at the table so I can be able to try almost all of it.

FIRST STOP: SEAFOODS AND IHAWAN

If you're a close friend, you can attest that I hate eating fish. Unless it's boneless so I never really dared to have those creatures cooked. But instead I went for the Tanigue and the blue marlin.
Their inihaw is one of my least favorite. It lacks in taste. In my opinion, the chefs should have done a good marinating with their meat to add taste. But the sauces are good.
SECOND STOP: STEAK
If you want your 1,000 ++ bucks to be worth it make sure you are patient enough to fall in line for this baby right here. That area right there, my friend, is where the steaks are being grilled. Rib eye, tenderloin, etc. etc. etc! Plus you get to have 5 different sauces. Justin personally picked the WINE GRAVY and TRUFFLES.

THIRD STOP: ZE DESSERT BAR

If there's one thing I'll never let go, that is the LOVE FOR DESSERTS. Vikings has a huge variety of it from cakes, brownies, cookies, chocolate fondue, fruits and a whole lot more!

FOURTH STOP: APPETIZERS

The appetizer section has a wide array of bread, biscuits, cheese, spreads and everything new to my senses. The bad news is, I wasn't able to try everything on it since it might take up a lot of space in my tummy.

FIFTH STOP: DRINKS
Unlimited drinks is also inclusive when you dine-in here. Coffee, juices, water, tea and yes, you're reading it right. BEER. But if I were you I wouldn't dare chugging down that beer because it's not really worth your 1000 pesos.

Told you they have a wide selection of appetizers such as their coleslaw, mashed potato, nachos, dips and everything else!

SIXTH STOP: JAPANESE FOOD

The Japanese section of the buffet is the one you wouldn't want to miss. It has variety of colors that is attractive to look but not sure you wanted to eat. But I tell you, it's really good for eating! Yumyum!

I failed to take photos of everything but they also serve Chinese, Italian and American. And I'm sorry if the construction of this blog is poorly made. I got tamad sequencing the photos. So forgive me for this one.

Tip: If you want this to be worth your 1K, I suggest that you go for the ones that are expensive in the market such as their steaks, crabs, oysters (THUMBS UP!), shrimps and the like. If you're gonna eat rice, pasta or anything with carbs, make sure it will be in small amounts. Plus stay away from the DRINKS and anything with DAIRY. Follow these tips and you'll be able to keep up with the buffet.

I'd definitely come back here! Still a lot I failed to eat!

And at the end of the day, it all boils down to who you shared the experience with. :))

I told you! You'll be seeing a lot of faces than words. HAHAHA!
